12 Months Check up

Today the babies had their 12 months check up. We could not wait for today's check up because both are feeling bad with a new cold. Yesterday night Alex had high fever and he was also coughing all the time. It is frustrating to see our little ones sick all the time. Here are few updates:

Alana: The little princess

Height:
28.5 in - 30 Percentile ( It means she is taller than 30% of the girls on her age) . Yes she is a little small but she has lots of time to grow still.
Weight: 20 lbs 14 oz - 48% percentile. She is a regular size.
Vocabulary: She has around 10+ words (Mommy, Dada, Bubby, Yummy Yummy, No No, Bob, Baby, Bye bye, Alana, Baba (bottle), Hi, Hello) on her vocabulary and at this age the average normally says 2 words. The Dr. said this is a sign that she will be really smart. It does not mean that kids that do not talk as much will not be smart but it is a good sign.
Prescription: No ear infection but she got this cold for too long so Dr has prescribed some antibiotic to help her with it.

Alex: The charming price

Height:
30 in - 48 Percentile ( It means he is taller than 48% of the boys on his age) .
Weight: 23 lbs 14 oz - 68% percentile. Even through the sickness time he was able to recover his weight well.
Vocabulary: He has around 5+ words (Mommy, Dada, Baby, Bye bye, Baba (bottle), Hello) on her vocabulary and at this age the average normally says 2 words. Pretty smart boy too.
Prescription: No ear infection which means the tubes are doing what they are suppose to do which is keep the fluids out of there. He has got some wheezing so Dr prescribed some breathing treatment with Albuterol

They are now ready to transition to Cow's Milk (Whole, with Vitamin D)...Let's see how it goes and I hope they like and for sure it will be a relieve in our pockets!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Feliz Aniversario

Mensagens

Today our blessings are 1 year old. I can not believe how time passed so fast.
I still can remember last year how scared me and Travis were when the doctor said that an emergency c section needed to happen for the safe of the babies at 33 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. All I can say there are lots of things that we will never forget:

We will never forget how scary is not to know what was going to happen after the birth, will they be ok, will they be healthy...
We will never forget going home without our babies.
We will never forget the long 21 days at Columbus hospital arriving at 7 am and leaving late night.
We will never forget the days we could not hold or feed them
We will never forget the days we prayed to see them breathing by themselves.
We will never forget the first time we held them in our arms
We will never forget the first time we changed their diapers
We will never forget when they started eating without feeding tubes
We will never forget the first day we took them home...That was the happiest day of our lives.

Our lives have changed totally but for the better. Me and Travis are really lucky to have Alex and Alana in our lives, they make everything better and happier.

Yes! we are sleep deprived parents but with lots of happiness, smiles and giggles.

Happy Birthday Alex and Alana

Early morning...work, day care...

Just few pictures we took couple days ago that shows how happy the babies are when they wake up. This is early morning before they go to the day care and I wish I had half of their energy.

Sleepy face

but always with a cute smile on the face!

Alex is home!

Alex was released from the hospital Monday evening. Thanks God my baby is back home and doing better. It was difficult to make them to go to bed that night because the twins have never being apart from each other for that long. So when we Alex got home they just wanted to play and play....it was almost 10:30 pm when they finally went to bed. They are not 100% there yet but I pray that soon they will be.
I have to thank Judy and Janet so much for helping us with the babies...you are blessings in our lives.
